  My earliest work was primarily done in pen-and-ink and it is still the media that I feel most comfortable with. I find it relaxing to gradually create the values and textures of images with small lines of a fine point pen. Of course, mistakes have to be incorporated into the design since india ink is not erasable and no form of white-out really works effectively.

  A certain degree of simplification is required with this technique and I find that I enjoy returning to certain patterns and a flow of the lines that has an iconic quality that appeals to me.
